Music Video Ananlysis - King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men
This video, similarly to the previous one, presents the juxtaposition of a relatively happy and uplifting song, with a music video set in a tumultuous and dystopian environment, void of most colour. There is no lip syncing in this video however, so to immerse you fully in the world of the video.
The song is rather light and happy, and adjacent to this, the video does have a slightly hopeful element to it up until the end.
Music Video Analysis - It's Time by Imagine Dragons
This music video is considerably juxtapositional to the song it promotes, largely monochromatic, whilst the song is comparatively upbeat and colourful. The song it hopeful, whilst the video depicts a Dystopian, depraved environment, shot primarily in slow motion.
It is also reminiscent of Madonna's music video for 'Frozen', which is coloured similarly cooly and in the same type of deserted environment.

Nothing Compares to You - Sinead O'Connor
Despite this music video being relatively cheap, the impact it had upon the popularity of the song, and in general the public at the time it came out, was exceptional.
The director for this music video initially filmed more footage of Sinead O'Connor walking through France, but ended up using only the simple footage of Sinead lip syncing the song for the majority of the song, becaus eof how impactful and emotive her performance was, including the famous, and unplanned tears she shed during the shoot.
Her tears struck a chord with many people at the time, and increased the popularity of the song dramatically.

Choosing the music.
We are going to find our music via the website www.unsigned.com. When we find a song that we would lie to use, we will contact the artist via email/myspace to ask for specific permission to use their song, detailing who I am and why I would like to use the music, in my request
This is a draft of an e-mail I would send as a request:
To (artist name),
Hello! I'm writing to request permission to use one of your songs in my schoolwork. I am a 17 year old student from the UK, and for my schoolwork I am asked to film a music video to a song of our choice, and I would like to use yours.
If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your time!
Regards,
Islah Jagan.

Copyright laws restrict usage and claiming of intellectual property owned by record labels and the producers of such content
It is important for these laws to exist to protect the hard work of others from being claimed and credited to someone else.
However, these efficient laws may create some problems for our work, regarding the usage of music for our promo video, and making sure that we have permission to use the music that we end up using, so that our video does not get removed from youtube and is legal.

Headlock by Imogen Heap -music video
I like this video because of it's effect on the popularity of the song. The song was barely even known before this video, however, it increased in popularity (if only slightly) with the release of the music video. It is intriguing, artistic and strange, much like this particular artist.
