We are going to find our music via the website www.unsigned.com. When we find a song that we would lie to use, we will contact the artist via email/myspace to ask for specific permission to use their song, detailing who I am and why I would like to use the music, in my request
This is a draft of an e-mail I would send as a request:

Hello! I'm writing to request permission to use one of your songs in my schoolwork. I am a 17 year old student from the UK, and for my schoolwork I am asked to film a music video to a song of our choice, and I would like to use yours.
